Metallurgical Coal AustraliaMetallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose. Job Description Shift Engineer Mechanical Moranbah North Mine 12 Months Fixed Term Moranbah North is a dynamic world-class operation that strives for innovation and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will coordinate and schedule services for the Engineering and Maintenance Department. Key Responsibilities of the role will include Working closely with the tradesmen and coordinators on Longwall, Development, Conveyors and Infrastructure to ensure maintenance strategy compliance across all processes is achieved Follow the short- and long-term maintenance schedules Drive urgency in rectifying breakdowns to reduce downtime Apply disciplined and proven methods of maintenance scheduling to develop, resource and communicate a fit-for-purpose, short-term plan and ensure that assets are maintained at optimum levels Proactively identify work requirements and initiate change management to ensure resources are effectively managed Be proactive in your approach to safety, following the SHMS policies and the monitoring of maintenance work underground on a daily basis. Ensuring the development of timely programmed maintenance schedules Qualifications To be successful in the role you will have the following Mechanical trade qualification Experience in mine maintenance High communicational skills Passion for continuous improvement Experience with SAP would be highly regarded Solid understanding of underground coal mining process Additional information This position is a fixed term contract for 12 months on an even time roster based in Moranbah, QLD. Successful completion of this fixed term may attract a further 12 months. The Salary sacrificed benefits may be considered for the successful candidate.
