You'll join a newly stood up Branch working on environmental protection reform in a complex regulatory and legal environment.Make a tangible impact in a high-profile and politically charged environmentTaking on a role in this area will help fast track your career and get your skills to the next levelSecure a long-term contract that is vacant and could be extended or lead to permanency elsewhere within the departmentBe involved in what will become a game changing initiative for Australian industry and the environmentExtend your staff management skills by managing one staff memberThe RoleThis position will further refine your policy expertise in a regulation environment. The successful candidate will be required to Review, research and analyse information under the current legislation Environmental Protection and Biosecurity Conservation Act 1999 Develop ministerial briefings, cabinet submissions and reports relating to bilateral agreements and negotiationsAssist with policy issues and produce New Policy ProposalsDevelop a range of targeted communication materials for both internal and external stakeholdersAttend internal and external forumsYour Background and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you must have significant experience in policy development and implementation in federal government.
