The team at Volvo Penta has an opening for a Business Development Manager BDM to position Volvo Penta as the preferred Industrial supplier in the Oceania region. As a commercially focused BDM, you will be passionate about engaging and business partnering with Volvo Penta Importers, Centres and Dealers as well as OEM and Fleet customers to identify growth opportunities for their business and Volvo Penta s innovative product range. This position will be based at our highly desirable waterfront offices on the Gold Coast with the successful incumbent required to travel extensively to meet business requirements across the region. About the role - To implement the Volvo Penta Tactical Plan and to create, implement and secure VP Oceania Industrial business plan - Build relationships with designated customer base and maintain comprehensive and accurate customer records. - Actively participate in VPO commercial crew and secure required support to win opportunities - Prepare and present quotations and tenders as required and assist existing sales outlets with quotes and technical sales proposals and preparations. - Achieve set sales target - To learn and fully utilise all Volvo Penta sales systems. - Liaise with global Market Units to ensure Key account model is implemented - Liaise with Parts and Service personnel to ensure customer receives a total offer from Volvo Penta. - Project manage, Design Evaluations and Reports for Key Accounts - Ensure quality control is enforced at commissioning of Key Account applications - Support our product and customers at exhibitions - Represent VGA as required at various industry association functions and meetings. - Ensure competitive pricing whilst retaining profit margin as determined by Volvo Penta management - Ensure that the quality of the product is of a high standard and suited to the use of the intended customer. About you - Strategic with extensive sales and marketing skills including experience developing and implementing business growth strategies, achieving predefined sales targets and customer segmentation - Commercially aware, you will have a strong interest in a broad range of business matters and knowledge of the Australian New Zealand industrial engine market - Technical with a curious mindset to provide customer engineering assistance - Possess strong technical industrial engine product knowledge, Volvo Penta preferred but not essential - Exceptional customer development and partnership skills with proven networking and relationship building skills to engage the customer on the Volvo Penta journey - A natural communicator, to clearly deliver technical information to all stakeholders - Strong MS Office 365 and CRM system experience to accurately retrieve data and prepare engaging presentations for target audience, including Board level. - Degree qualified in Engineering Sales Marketing or similar professional business studies would be advantageous - Collaborative team player to work cross functionally across the Volvo Penta team both locally and internationally - Flexible approach to business commitments, to travel domestically across the region - Hold a valid and clean Australian Drivers Licence.
