The Opportunity As Head of Technical, reporting to the General Manager People and Operations, you will be welcomed as an important member of the team. You will play a vital role in our business working collaboratively with the National technical team, Operations, NPD, commercial and procurement teams. You will strive to ensure our food safety culture is world-class, due diligence and legal compliance are being met, and working closely with the business look for continuous improvement opportunities. You will work closely with the GM Technical and ensure that our food safety frameworks are fit for purpose and our sites are compliant to BRC, CFMSR, WSE and ALDI supplier requirements. Your ability to manage multiple competing priorities will set you up for success in this varied, challenging and rewarding role within our high growth business. The Purpose Provide technical leadership for the operational areas of One Harvest business across processes from paddock to plate. Understanding the status quo, whilst maintaining the knowledge of best practice and exercising empathy and change management techniques to encourage continuous improvement. Ensure optimisation and standardisation of best practices and identify continuous improvement opportunities in our daily operations. Take accountability for executing our Food Safety and Compliance Strategy in collaboration with the GM of Technical and the Business Leadership Team. Work closely with our suppliers and team members to encourage engagement, alignment and involvement in our strategic plans. Identify opportunities across the National Technical Team for development and succession. Communicate technical KPIs to customers as required, building close and productive relationships to ensure success. Your Responsibilities Execution of the One Harvest Food Safety and Compliance Strategy across the business, ensuring this is aligned to our customer requirements. Management of National Technical KPIs to communicate technical performance internally and externally. Leading and managing the National and site Technical teams to ensure we are compliant with compliant and effective technical processes to protect our customer brands and Australian consumers. Internal Auditing compliance to HACCP, VACCP and TACCP Ensure continual readiness for external and internal audits, customer visits and other statutory and legislative requirements. Reporting of Technical KPIs and improvement plans to customers. Ensures completion of corrective actions related to Technical KPIs and driving improvement. About You A tertiary qualification in Food Science or related field. Minimum of 5 years senior management and leadership experience. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. A high level of resilience and perseverance, continually working towards the achievement of goals. Experience in risk management and using data or facts to drive objective decision making. Experience in a multi-site and or national role. Auditing certifications experience. FMCG Fresh foods short shelf-life products experience. Extensive HACCP training and familiarity with BRC. Excellent root cause analysis and investigation report writing skills. A strong focus on safety in line with our Zero Harm initiatives.
