About the Role Based at our Australian Corporate Head Office in Melbourne CBD, the Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the General Ledger, assisting in the delivering of timely month end processes and monthly results, associated local and international reporting requirements, supervising support staff in the Corporate Services Finance team, while coordinating accounts payable and debt collection processes. Key Responsibilities include Perform day to day account processing including general journals, bank reconciliations, AP AR Preparation of monthly GL reconciliations and financial statements Preparation of monthly reporting packs Maintain financial and cash flow forecast updates to ensure sufficient cash requirement Coordination of debt collection and accounts payable processes Ensure projects in BST Accounting and Project Management software are reflected with the most accurate and up to date information Monitoring project cost, revenue and forecasting working with Finance Manager, Senior Engineers and Discipline Leaders to support financial reporting BST project reporting Creating monthly project reports for the management Assist with half yearly and annual audit process Prepare BAS returns for group subsidiary entities and assist with the FBT return Liaise and support local and interstate business units Manage Client and Supplier queries and Participate in ad-hoc improvement projects by the Finance Manager and Finance Director as required. About You A degree in accountancy, finance and relevant professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CPA qualifications or part thereof 7 - 10 years of relevant Accounting experience in a corporate setting preferably engineering industry Experience in BST preferred Proficient in Microsoft Applications, with advanced Excel skills Practical experience using and maintaining finance systems An exceptional communicator with well developed interpersonal skills Ability to analyze, develop and implement innovative solutions to problems and situations Self-starter with a mature and responsible outlook with a Hands on Approach and Have a good understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
