The opportunity Our Assets and Capital Department has an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator Capital Planning and Asset Management to join the team Reporting to the Manager Assets and Capital, this position will coordinate the planning, scoping and development of the Council's 10-year capital expenditure program, whilst developing and implementing appropriate strategic asset management processes and systems that assist in the delivery of best practice asset management services across the organisation. Based at the Operations Centre in West Footscray, this position will also develop, lead and mentor a team of highly motivated professionals. Key responsibilities Coordinate the planning, scoping and development of Council's 10-year capital expenditure program in consultation with service managers and all relevant stakeholder Develop capital works planning, prioritisation and project justification processes and manage the project application process Prepare and report on the performance of capital works planning, strategic asset management action plans and other relevant reports as directed by Manager Assets and Capital for the purpose of submitting to Council, Audit and Risk Committee Develop and provide advice on the relevance of the asset management policy and asset management improvement strategy Review and develop the Council's Road Management Plan, Asset Management Plan and other relevant strategic documents in accordance with the legislative requirements and or industry best practice Manage operational and capital budgets including and assist the Manager Assets and Capital in the preparation of reports to the Executive Management Team and Council Manage monthly cash flows including budget forecasting, ensure budgets are adhered to and approve payments and commit expenditure within delegations To be considered for this role, you will have the following A degree in Engineering with Asset Management qualifications and extensive experience working in a similar function The ability to develop Councils annual and long term capital works program Previous experience in asset valuation, capitalisation and asset life cycle costing Demonstrated ability to manage the Council's Fleet section The ability to manage and lead change management processes, including team changes A current valid Victorian driver's license If you are looking for a role where you can make a difference and you enjoy working in a diverse community-focused environment, Apply Now To express your interest in this role, please forward your Resume and a Cover Letter via our Careers website outlining your relevant experience and addressing the Key Selection Criteria in support of your application by the close date.
