Senior Digital Strategist

We are seeking a Senior Digital Strategist to lead the delivery of key client projects. The Senior Digital Strategist is a curious and creative thinker with deep digital knowledge. The Strategist is an analytical role and is responsible for contributing to the agency's Strategic Practices including research, insight gathering and digital roadmap development. Reporting to the Strategy Director, this is a highly collaborative and team-oriented role with the aim of elevating the quality and role of research, user experience, and strategy in the agency.

We are looking for someone that is focused on the bigger picture and can lead strategic engagements with our clients. You will often be on the tools whilst also willing to regularly engage in with a cross functional project team and our clients.

This is an important role which sees the continuation of Luminary's strategic growth plans.

Key responsibilities

Doing the work

  • Produce and deliver exceptional quality strategic advisory. This includes:
    • Getting to know our clients and their business challenges well in order to generate plans to contribute to their brands' success
    • Designing and leading workshops with clients
    • Providing insights, thought leadership, digital strategy to clients
    • Working with data analysts and researchers to gather key data to inform strategic insight development
    • Developing and presenting strategic recommendations
    • Sharing outcomes of client projects with staff, clients and colleagues
    • Working closely with the UX and Design teams to collaborate on client projects
  • Produce quality work that creates new opportunities for client projects
  • Produce work that is recognised by our peers as of the highest quality (e.g. awards, positive feedback, speaking events, case studies)
  • Produce work that defines best practice in our industry
  • Produce insights and recommendations that can be effectively and efficiently implemented

Leading the work

  • Play an advisory role on client engagements, serving as a source of accurate information
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, that are proactive and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Identify opportunities for a client's business and end users through sector and discipline expertise
  • Work alongside existing clients to provide ongoing strategic digital consultancy

Improving the work

  • Conceive and oversee strategic engagements with clients
  • Work as a cross-functional team to develop and evolve ideas to bring together brand goals, objectives and consumer needs
  • Collaborate with members of the account management and production teams
  • Work with all teams to develop integrated solutions and improve/expand the services Luminary provides to clients

Winning the work

  • Aid the existing new business process by:
    • Assisting in development of pitch content and approach
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Luminary brand by:
    • Representing the agency at conferences, events and symposiums
    • Authoring new content on topical and related subjects for our blog

Essential skills & experience

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in digital, research or strategy roles
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Previous exposure to agile delivery models preferred
  • An ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for work tasks and projects
  • Bachelor's (or above) degree in marketing, digital, business or related discipline
  • Intellectually curious and creative, highly motivated, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to understand the needs of consumers and target audiences
  • Demonstrable experience delivering successful digital strategy projects
