The Role Reporting to the Projects Operations Manager, we have an opportunity for an experienced Water Treatment Plant Operator to join the Ixom team on site at a coal mine in the Appin area. We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking go-getter with a positive attitude to contribute to the safe and efficient day to day operations of the site, including being accountable for the contractual obligations we have to our customer. You ll be joining as the WTP transitions into the Operation Maintenance contract. This provides you with a unique opportunity to have a say in shaping your role as we work with our client to develop and refine the operating regime. As such it will be dynamic and demanding initially until operations and working relationships with the client are bedded in. Unlike most jobs on a mine site, you ll ordinarily only be required to work on site during business hours Monday to Friday and be on-call may require to response to any process operation critical events from time to time, should they arise. Key Responsibilities Deliver outstanding results for Ixom and its customers Undertake site-based operation and maintenance activities Prioritise incidents or other safety, quality or environmental concerns as required by the Operations Safety Management Plan Monitor plant performance from SCADA and on the ground Undertake visual inspections, pre-start checks, preventative maintenance, CIPs and cartridge filter changeouts as necessary Participate in project installation, commissioning and maintenance activities at the Appin site and other Ixom sites as required from time to time. Skills Experience Electrical or Mechanical experience essential trade qualification preferred but not essential Water treatment plant operation and maintenance experience highly desirable Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis operation maintenance experience highly desirable Forklift licence or willing to get one upon joining First aid certification or willing to get one upon joining Class C driving licence Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Experience in the maintenance of pumps, pipelines and other mechanical equipment Knowledge of water treatment engineering practices Excellent communication and interpersonal ability Promote a high standard of safety culture Proven maintenance capabilities Attention to detail Why Ixom Opportunity to work for a large successful global organisation Access to an Employee Assistance Program and health discounts for all employees Ongoing learning and development to meet your professional development needs A supportive and accessible leadership team and a solid values platform that underpins who we are and how we operate On top of a competitive salary and a great location, IXOM offers a flexible, diverse inclusive workforce.
