UGL 's Projects division designs, plans and delivers major projects across the transport, infrastructure technology, renewables, resources, and utilities sectors. Within the utilities portfolio there is currently a requirement for an experienced Procurement Officer to work on any number of projects within the power, water and transmission and distribution industries.About the roleThe Procurement Officer is responsible for the provision of procurement of goods, materials and services ensuring purchases are made at the most favourable prices consistent with desired quality, quantity, delivery time and other factors as indicated by the Project Manager.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to - Investigate and develop supply sources, submit for inclusion on the approved tender list and maintain communication with vendors on a regular basis - Process purchase orders by identifying suppliers from an approved vendor register, by sourcing suppliers and evaluating prices or by going out to tender for more costly items and placing orders with suitable vendors - Ensure goods are delivered to sites by arranging logistics expediting, following up to confirm site receival and liaising with the site team to have items held in store to be delivered and - Liaise with Accounts Department to answer queries on purchasing and prices charged.About You - Previous construction experience on Power, Transmission or D C projects in a similar role - Tertiary qualifications in Supply chain management, Procurement or Logistics or equivalent trade qualifications in a relevant field - Proven commercial acumen with established negotiation and influencing skills and - Experience to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.What we offer - Diverse opportunities to grow, back yourself and achieve - Flexible working arrangements - Ongoing training for career progression - A competitive remuneration package with salary continuance insurance, employee assistance program for employees and their families, AIA Vitality wellness program and Discounts on private health insurance, vehicles, travel and moreWhat makes you right for UGL - Ability to provide a safe, supportive and positive workplace - Empower a united and collaborative culture - Deliver technical excellence and create efficient, innovative solutions - Build an enviable reputation and the trust of employees, clients and other stakeholders - Genuine concern for safetyAbout Us UGL is a well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services within rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence markets.
