Geoscience Australia is seeking to fill three APS Seismologist positions within its Community Safety Branch APS6 Seismologist seismic hazard conducts complex scientific analysis of earthquake data to improve future national-scale seismic hazard assessments, using a wide range of datasets andcontemporary scientific methodologies to deliver high-quality advice on earthquake hazards for theAustralian region.APS6 Seismologist forensic seismology contributes to the analysis and reporting on possible nuclear explosion events. Conducts scientific research, primarily in seismology, but possibly infrasound, with the goal of making practical improvements to our monitoring capability.APS6 Seismologist observatory methods contributes to ensuring the relevance and rigour of seismological methods used in the National Earthquake Alerts Centre and, in particular, applies their knowledge to support and provide backup cover for the SeisComP Administrator in managing andmaintaining the critical technical software SeisComP which is at the core of NEAC capability.
