This Commonwealth Government Department is currently an APS 5 Program Officer to join their team in their Townsville office.Initially through till October 2021, this contract role has the possibility of extension and is an opportunity to secure your future with an organization that is one of the countries leading employers.This role will see you responsible for managing and implementing seasonal work programs that assist Australian employers in the horticulture and agriculture sectors and employers in selected locations in the accommodation sector to have access to a reliable seasonal workforce.Given this role will see you liaise with stakeholders right throughout the North Queensland region there is a significant amount of travel involved, including overnight stays and long periods of driving.The responsibilities and activities the Program Officer will undertake include Managing contracts for a case load of Approved Employers participating in the program, including assessing applications to recruit seasonal workers, managing compliance of Approved Employers with the program Deed and guidelines and undertake monitoring visits Stakeholder management and assurance activities Managing program online support and improvements, running program operational performance reports and providing data analysis to support program management and future enhancements The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities experience and or qualifications Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a range of cultural environments and communicate sensitively and effectively with people of Cultural and Linguistically Diverse CaLD backgrounds Demonstrated capacity to manage complex stakeholder relationships Demonstrated ability to drive projects and achieve deliverables in line with agreed timelines Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement and make decisions within defined policy frameworks Strong analytical skills including demonstrated ability to identify emerging issues and trends and develop strategies in response to address them Sound written communication skills and experience in maintaining accurate records using information management systems Confidence in public speaking If successful you will be well rewarded with an opportunity to further your career with a leading Government Department, an attractive hourly rate and working conditions and the possibility of further extension options.
