The Opportunity Do you want the opportunity to progress your career in the sustainability space You will be the key liaison on environmental, economic and social sustainability issues consulting with stakeholders and implementing Council's Sustainability Action Plan, Water and Energy Management Plans and related policies, strategies and initiatives to ensure Council meets its sustainability targets. Further, you will engage and work closely with Council staff, our community and businesses to enhance their understanding of environmental sustainability, energy, and climate change issues, and the urgency of reducing carbon emissions. Permanent full-time - 70 hours per fortnight Salary from 84,390.35 - 97,777.12 per annum plus 9.5 superannuation Public transport allowance to reduce our carbon footprint Wellness perks including flu vaccinations, health-checks, gym subsidy and more Deliver innovative services that promote and support our community Essential Tertiary qualifications in science or engineering, natural resource management or a related discipline and or extensive experience delivering sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon accounting projects services An in-depth understanding of the principles of sustainable development and ability to translate that understanding into projects and policy development Demonstrated experience in the field of energy and or water conservation and planning Proven experience and sound knowledge of stakeholder engagement tools and techniques Experience managing large projects across teams or with various stakeholders Knowledge of relevant legislation and State and Local Government Policy in NSW, especially as it relates to environmental sustainability, climate change and sustainable infrastructure management If you would like further information on this role please see the position description or please contact Elyse Ballesty, Coordinator Environmental Sustainability and Waste on 02 9330 6140.
