ABOUT USThe Shepherd Centre is a not-for-profit early intervention provider, that runs specialised paediatric programs for children with hearing impairment and their families, to enable them to develop their listening and spoken language and go on to achieve their full potential in life. We have been operating for over 50 years and currently help over 700 children and their families each year, through 7 centres across NSW and ACT and our teleintervention and e-learning platforms. ABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a motivated and professional Key Relationships Executive to join our friendly and supportive Fundraising and Marketing team. The role reports to the Senior Key Relationships Manager and is primarily responsible for cultivating relationships with grant-makers and generating funding for The Shepherd Centre s current and future activities, through submission of grant applications to trusts, foundations, government and other grant-making organisations. This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time contract role, which supports flexible work arrangements, including the option of working a 9-day fortnight and a combination of working in office and from home. The role is based at our Newtown Head Office, which is located right near Macdonaldtown train station and has some onsite parking available. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to Liaising with internal stakeholders to understand The Shepherd Centre s funding needs and priorities Writing and submitting strong, successful grant applications which contribute towards annual income targets Building meaningful, ongoing relationships with funders and prospective funders who support The Shepherd Centre Creating tailored communications and final acquittal reports for current funders on the impact of their funding Researching and identifying relevant funding opportunities provided by grant-making bodies Maintaining accurate and current database records Supporting the Key Relationships team in developing communications and events, to help cultivate and steward funders ABOUT YOU Must haves Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with exceptional attention to detail Excellent communication skills, with an ability to develop ongoing relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders Proven experience managing an end-to-end project, including reporting on outcomes Ability to work under pressure with competing timelines Goals focussed and solutions orientated Can work independently, showing initiative and self-direction, while working collaboratively with a small dedicated team A character that aligns with The Shepherd Centre s mission and values A current NSW Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one Full working rights to work in Australia The following will be highly regarded Proven experience in achieving philanthropic income, especially from Trusts, Foundations and Grant opportunities Ability to provide grant writing examples to support your application Relevant tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Business, Marketing or Communications WHY JOIN THE SHEPHERD CENTRE At The Shepherd Centre, we are passionate about improving outcomes for the children accessing our programs.
