About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our 5 Star Salisbury site! As an Employment Consultant you will be responsible for managing a caseload of customers, some with significant vocational and non-vocational barriers, with a view to improving their capacity to work. Having the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with your customers is paramount so that you assist them to address barriers to employment. Your work first approach will have a strong focus on referring your customers to jobs and into sustainable and ongoing employment. You will also be expected to meet individual targets and contribute to a positive site team culture where integrity, competence and honesty are highly valued.

This position is being offered on a full time, ongoing basis.

You’ll also experience the work/life balance that comes with working a 9 day fortnight, with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week. You will still receive the remuneration of a full time employee in addition to the ability to salary sacrifice. About You

To be successful in the role you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a passion and drive for helping people find employment;
  • Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of customers, employers and staff;
  • Demonstrate the ability to undertake challenging conversations with customers to help progress them towards employment;
  • Prove your ability to assess, match and refer customers to appropriate job opportunities and take a proactive approach to advocate directly to employers for ongoing business development opportunities;
  • Prove your ability to achieve individual targets and work to clearly defined KPIs;
  • Demonstrate strong administration skills and IT literacy, data entry and typing skills, Word, Excel and Outlook experience;
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure; and
  • Demonstrate previous experience in the employment services, service based or call centre industry or similar.
  • You will also be required to:

  • Have the ability to type 30 words per minute; and
  • Have an understanding or be willing to learn the local labour market and needs of employers.

    Remuneration

    A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax effective salary packaging.
