The Role In 2016, Navantia Australia was awarded the AOR sustainment contract to build HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart, which is due to commence service with the Royal Australian Navy from mid-2020 and will remain in service for a minimum of 25 years. Navantia Australia will be responsible for the sustainment of both ships for their first five years of operation along with the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group CASG and form the AOR System Program Office AORSPO . We currently have an exciting role for an experienced Superintendent Hull and Outfitting to join the AOR Program team out of its Garden Island, Sydney office. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a successful team who thrive on collaboration and teamwork. As the Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and supervising the contractors and OEMs performing maintenance service activities and will be the Subject Matter Expert in the Hull and Outfitting area to support the in service requirements for the AOR platform in the overall delivery of sustainment maintenance services for the AOR Vessels. In this role, you will Support the Ship Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planning Manager in matters to do with the maintenance management of the AOR Platforms. Assist the Engineering team to solve technical issues. Conduct Technical Engineering investigations, including triage of maintenance defects related reports Conduct Technical Risk Assessments and assist in Maintaining the Hull and Technical Risk Register for the AOR. Conduct System Safety engineering activities and Hull related systems Lead and Deliver Engineering changes as directed. Develop Work Instructions Develop and deliver Hull and Outfitting services as required for AOR Contract Support . Prepare AOR plans and reports as required by the Maintenance Planning Manager. Manage and co-ordinate subcontractors as required in performing the required activities. Assist the Ship Manager in preparing and supporting AOR Budgeting Manage and coordinate the test and activation processes related to platform systems. As the ideal candidate, you will have Tertiary qualifications as a Naval Architect or Marine Engineering or Trade background in Naval Hull and Outfitting with on the job experience in Engineering Maintenance Proven skills and experience in leading a maintenance activities and Defect response function. Experience within an Naval Maintenance Management role Minimum 2 years supervisory experience Excellent technical skills in marine systems Very strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency AGSVA Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of NV1 What it's like to work with Navantia Australia At Navantia Australia, we recognise that it's our people who are our greatest asset.
