We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services. ABOUT THE ROLE The Housing Early Intervention Worker is responsible for engaging connections to support long term appropriate housing for service users who become ready for independent living. You will provide early intervention support to assist individuals and families to sustain, transition and secure long term accommodation. Early Intervention Support Working in a team to support individuals and families to sustain current accommodation to avoid entering the homelessness system, or to safely transition or be rapidly re-housed. Duties include but not limited to Client centred case management.Provision of information, referral and advocacy services to clients to relevant services internal or external.Administer brokerage.Effective and timely communication.Undertake other related tasks as required.Housing Engagement Identifying housing opportunities and supporting team members to secure suitable housing for clients who are identified as being able to transition to independent living. Networking Partnerships Networking with other services and partner organisations to participate in group service events. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Crisis Accommodation, level 2. ABOUT YOU Essential Qualifications and Experience An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.Criminal History Check Clear Working with Children CheckTertiary qualifications, or working towards, minimum Bachelor degree in Community Services, Social Work or related discipline.Current NSW Driver's Licence.Current Senior First Aid Certificate.Minimum 3 years case management experience.Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the community services sector in NSW, with a specific emphasis on homelessness and family domestic violence including issues, trends, resources services etc. .Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key service providers.Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.Experience in Trauma Informed Care approach.Flexibility with work hours to meet the operational requirements of the position.This role may involve some travel throughout NSW centres and to THQ, Intra and InterstateTSA Social Mission embraces diversity and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Intersexpeople with a culturally or linguistically diverse background The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation that is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of children and young people, and protecting them from harm.
