Description:75,109 - 93,993 plus Super Brindabella Park , ACTThe Role Within the Procurement Policy function, APS5 and APS6 Procurement Policy Officers are accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex to complex procurement policy work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision making and Defence mission and policy requirements. The Procurement Policy Officer positions will maintain multiple focuses and be responsible for various business as usual activities associated with AusTender and various projects which impact on the delivery of commercial information solutions. A Procurement Policy Officer will coordinate procurement related statutory reporting, such as the Annual Procurement Plan, Senate Order on Entity Contracts and related contract reporting. They may be a team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit. About our Team The Directorate of Commercial Information Solutions DCIS is a small team responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of innovative commercial information solutions that enhance Defence s value for money outcomes and reduce reputational risk through provision of AusTender support and commercial reporting. The DCIS is accountable for the delivery of various business improvement initiatives and projects which aim to ensure Defence is maximising the use of available technology to achieve more efficient, effective and economical procurement practices, specifically where AusTender is linked in the process. The directorate is heavily engaged in providing input into the Defence Enterprise Resource Planning ERP Program. This includes assisting with the scoping, delivery and support of the new Defence ERP systems requirements definition, reviewing and providing input to the procurement requirements, preparing use case scenarios for solution design. The directorate has the stewardship and overall responsibility for the management of quality of procurement and contract data under the ERP Program. Our Ideal Candidates We are seeking applicants with experience or ability to quickly acquire in managing procurement and contract reporting associated with AusTender and in managing continuous improvement projects to join the Commercial Information Solutions Directorate. You will have sound communication and customer engagement skills, organisational skills, self-drive and initiative to achieve tasks and business objectives. You will have the ability to understand already established principles, work practices and procedures. We are looking for people with the aptitude to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. You should also enjoy working on a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast paced environment. You ll be customer-focused and have sound written and verbal communication skills, which will put you in an advantageous position when engaging with internal and external stakeholders. You will have the ability to work collaboratively and well within a team environment. We are looking for members who enjoy what they do and bring a positive and enthusiastic outlook. The ideal candidate will have experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, however, this is not essential. Experience with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework is desirable, however, not mandatory. You may have public service Commonwealth, State or Territory procurement experience or you may not - you may have worked in similar roles and or fields such as bids, proposal and business development or contract development and management in the private sector.
