Working closely with the BDM Australia, the Senior BDM Australia (Global BD Lead for Power Industry Group) and the broader Asia-Pacific marketing and business development (BD) team to support the Partners on strategy for Australia and the Asia- Pacific.
The Australian team of over 70 lawyers across Melbourne and Sydney offer market-leading experience advising on legal matters related to M&A, project structuring, development, acquisition, disputes, tax and financing of infrastructure and energy projects across the globe.
Our growing M&A and PE group focus on complex public cross border transactions including listed company takeovers and schemes of arrangement also supporting listed clients on all matters relevant to listed entities, including listing rule compliance, corporate governance, capital management and takeover defence.
The team advise private equity, superannuation funds and other investment fund clients on a wide range of commercial transactions including secondary market sales in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
The huge market demand for infrastructure and the race to secure energy and natural resources in Asia drives this team with the region’s infrastructure needs demanding US$1.7 trillion annually in financing, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The number of markets and sectors the team advise on mean it is increasingly important to stay coordinated and keep up-to-date with industry trends, government policy, client developments etc to spot, track and position for opportunities.Duties and Accountabilities1 Business Development
