We currently have an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to join and support our Wetherill Park manufacturing site as the Workplace Health, Safety and Environment Manager.
What does the role involve?...
Developing and Implementing safety strategies for the business in line with the broader CSR objectives
Facilitate effective communications across the business via Huddles, toolbox meetings and leadership meetings
Ensuring safety standards are effectively communicated to stakeholders
Review legislative changes and make appropriate recommendations and changes to support implementation
Manage risk register for business including appropriate actions for mitigation and reduction
Coaching managers on risk assessments and JSAs
Champion hazard identification and implementing appropriate controls with managers
Manage Industrial Hygiene and dangerous goods processes
Facilitate Incidents management and emergency response processes
What would make you a good fit for the role?...
5+ years’ experience in a similar role in a high risk, heavy industry background (mining, manufacturing, construction, rail etc)
Formal qualifications in Safety or relevant discipline
Proven working knowledge of WHSE systems and auditing experience
Familiarity with WHS legislation
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle competing priorities
Strong leadership to manage safety across multiple sites and engage key stakeholders at all levels
