Aspen Medical is seeking a Locum (casual) Aero-Medical Evacuation (AME) Doctor to provide 24/7 medical support to customers in the oil and gas sector through our Western Australia Resources Aero-Medical Evacuation (WARAME) service.
The role will be on a 21-day rotation period. We will be covering the flights and providing the accommodation.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
providing quality and competent clinical care of all patients evacuated by the AME team
day-to-day clinical oversight of paramedic
completing in full orientation for replacement AME doctor
complying with all Aspen WARAME Project documented procedures
participating in other duties as required by the Manager.
Experience, qualifications and documentation required:
Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or international equivalent
current unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
evidence of Fellowship of either Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or vocational registration (VR) as a General Practitioner
evidence of Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) or Advanced Trauma Life Support within the last four years, or equivalent
evidence of completion of previous triennium requirements and active participation in continuing education recognised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners - Quality Assurance and Continuous Professional Development (RACGP QA & CPD) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine-Professional Development Program (ACRRM PDP) or other specialist colleges, as applicable
aeromedical evacuation experience
current professional medical indemnity insurance
evidence of a Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) Certificate with Compressed Air.
