Reporting to the Head of Engineering, they will be someone with a passion for driving change armed with strong technical and people leadership skills. They will help us build and foster a happy and highly performing team within a global and complex environment. They will be enabling their team to take on multiple exciting challenges as we tackle evolving the business into the digital and cloud world.
Technical Leadership: Cloud adoption: Ensuring cloud readiness of existing code in preparation for integration with or migration to the cloud Analysis: Analysing/overseeing the analysis of technical items to produce models for the team to follow through to implementation Estimates: Providing high level estimates from a technical perspective to what needs to be delivered as needed Code reviews: Contributing to code reviews and ensuring the high quality of changes going through including test coverage Tech debt: Tackling tech debt with the team as a continuous effort to maintain the health of the product Quality non-functional requirements: Maintaining a high level of quality deliverables with all non-functional requirements in mind Automation: Catalysing automation of tests and manual processes to achieve more efficient outcomes for the team over time Documentation: Ensuring design documents and wikis are produced as needed to enhance maintainability of the solutions Delivery: Ensuring a fluent agile process is in place that is optimized to fit the team’s needs over time Representing the team in the different conversations Collaborating with peer leads of the different teams to ensure optimized knowledge and resource sharing as needed Engaging with stakeholders to bridge any gaps between the business and the engineering team Assisting with building key parts of our pipeline in support of our devops group People Leadership: Leading a cross functional team of five to six to the successful delivery of value to our customers Building and fostering a group of passionate, highly skilled, engaged and motivated engineers Coaching and mentoring the next generation of engineers & leaders within the group Creating and executing professional development plans for direct reports To ensure your success in this role you will bring:
Experience leading teams through completion of technical initiatives Experience as a people leader or demonstratable mentoring of engineers Tertiary qualifications in Technology or similar/relevant certifications Experience creating & documenting solution architectures Experience delivering projects/initiatives in an Agile environment Strong problem solving, analytical thinking and teamwork skills Experience/exposure with the below technologies would be great, but isn’t necessary: .Net and MSSQL Redis caching and Rabbit MQ Team City and Octopus Azure DevOps and broader Azure Cloud services Containers and Orchestration platforms Benefits and Culture:
