This is a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist role - experienced Grade 1 Occupational Therapists will also be considered

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with adults in the community.

You will provide clinical occupational therapy services to adults receiving services in Community Health, Eastern Health at Healesville and/or Yarra Junction, utilising both individual and group therapy models, including telehealth. This position is within the Health & Ageing Team and presents opportunities to work within a multidisciplinary team. Community Health services prioritise low income and vulnerable families.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Current experience as a grade 1 OR grade 2 Ocupational Therapist
Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
Current AHPRA registration.
Eligibility for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia.
High level communication skills, both written and oral.
Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work independently
Experience in supervision of students and staff.
Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
Commitment to improving own practice through participating in supervision and undertaking quality and research activities.
Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload using a client-centred approach.
Demonstrated experience in the provision of occupational therapy services in the community, in particular assessment and prescription of home modifications, wheelchairs, scooters, hoists and a variety of other assistive equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with current building practices associated with home modifications.
Ability to promote service and liaise with existing and potential referral partners (internal and external to Eastern Health)
Experience in making applications to funding bodies (e.g. SWEP).
Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.
Sound computer skills.
Current Victorian driver’s licence.
