About Our Client
My client is a large WA mining contractor and a leader in their field. They specialise in servicing the mining sector and are seeking an experienced Senior HSQE Advisor to provide the lead assistance in the management, coordination & Control of the Health Safety Quality Environment obligations with a focus on risk management policies and procedures
Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager, this role plays an integral part in overseeing the sites Health & Safety functions. With a strong understanding of risk management principles this role supports the management team to continuously improve processes and procedures and drive performance.
Key duties will include but are not limited too;
Updating risk management policies Coordinate and maintain the implementation, maintenance and review and the HSEQ Management System Monitor compliance and Quality Assurance documents Coordination of audits, site inspections and inductions Conducting risk assessments, audits and inspections of site work activities and conditions Provide guidance and support to site supervisors on all HSE matters Managing incident investigations and providing assistance in leading, drafting and presenting reports Managing return to work Being involved in change management Continuous improvement relating to quality Assist in reviewing and writing policies and procedures related to H&S practices including the Drug & Alcohol policy and procedure Identifying areas of improvement and implementing new processes and procedures Developing and implementing safety initiatives
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be an experienced HSEQ Advisor with the following expertise:
Understanding of ISO 9001, IS 45001, OHSA 18001, and AS 4801 Strong understanding of risk management principles Experience dealing with clients at multiple levels Contractor background preferred, if from an end client (eg mine site) must demonstrate you understand the contractor constraints and delivery models for maintenance service Adhoc site travel - approximately 3 days per week on site and 2 in Perth office (on average) but depends on the needs Must have A WHS or related qualification (ideally degree level but candidates with a minimum qualification of cert IV will be considered) A current updated Cert IV in Training is highly desirable but not essential
