The Role
A new opportunity exists for a Warehouse Manager to join our Warehouse Team, based in our head office in Adelaide. Reporting to the National Manager – Supply Chain & Customer Service will be responsible for planning and directing the warehouse function to ensure the timely distribution of products and controlling warehouse activities.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for:
Responsible for the distribution function in SA
Planning and directing all phases of product distribution
Directing the planning the assignment of work to ensure the efficient use of personnel and equipment
Constantly reviewing and redesigning the layout of the warehouse to ensure the efficient utilization of storage space
Evaluating and recommending shipping deadlines and taking corrective action as required to meet objectives
Establishing changes in distribution techniques and practices where necessary
Developing and recommending improvements in office and warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service and lower costs.
Preparing budgets for approval and operating within approved budgets
Accepting and adhering to all WHSE responsibilities, policies, procedures and safe work practices related to the position
Development and implementation of warehousing standards, policies and procedures
Controlling, directing and monitoring warehousing staff, organising staff selection, training and development
Ensuring all staff understand and adhere to legislative guidelines and Toro WHSE policies, procedures and safe work practices.
Skills and Experience
The ideal applicant will possess;
Extensive experience in warehousing
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Excellent computing literacy including the full Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of relative industrial awards
Understanding of WHSE principles and legislation
A valid forklift license
Ability to establish and implement operating goals, objectives and procedures
Ability to recognize the strengths and opportunities for development within team members
Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
