Position summary

ABOUT YOU

Highly motivated and driven person with proven experience working in an operational iron ore shutdown environment. A team player with strong initiative, attention to detail and willingness to work hard. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with strong practical skills and be highly organised.

Ability to work safely and understand best work practices and knowledge, safe use of hand/power tools and equipment required to perform tasks. Understanding of maintenance strategies and strong commitment to work in the highest safety standards.

In this role you will be assisting with routine and unplanned maintenance activities by supporting tradespeople and operators with general labouring assistance, operating hand and power tools in addition to basic servicing and greasing of equipment. You will also be required to deliver and collect materials from suppliers and conduct stock control activities. Additional responsibilities will include cleaning and preparing work sites.

This opportunity will provide the opportunity to develop our knowledge of site / workshop procedures, operation of a plant and developing knowledge of the use and maintenance of work equipment.

Participation in ongoing training, learning and development opportunities will be provided.

All suitable applicants will provide:

Current HR Drivers Licence advantageous; Experience with the High Risk Work Licence (Forklift desirable); Construction Induction Blue/White Card; Working at Heights (or willing to obtain); Enter and Work in Confined Space (or willing to obtain); Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment or Confine small workplace emergencies (or willing to obtain); Gas Test Atmospheres (willing to obtain); and Evidence of your right to work in Australia

You must be willing to meet the fitness for work criteria and undertake a National Police Check.
