Purpose of the role

You will have the opportunity to showcase your diverse capability while performing as a safety and engineering generalist. You will contribute to a range of projects to provide specialist system safety advice and analysis to support development of solutions aimed at addressing our client’s needs. With a solid technical background, you will be instrumental in identifying and analysing risk as well as developing assurance cases and Safety Management Plans to meet statutory and non-statutory requirements.

Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills

With Systems or Mechanical Engineering experience, you will be client focused and able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements. Your natural style will be solution-oriented and collaborative. Possessing excellent interpersonal skills, you will work effectively as a team player with our interstate offices and client teams. You will be capable of working autonomously and will perform effectively, even when working remotely.

We are looking for someone with experience in:

Safety Case development MIL-STD 882 or similar system safety paradigms Technical risk management and safety analysis techniques Acquisition or sustainment experience within large Defence or commercial maritime programs Review of contractor deliverables against CDRLs and DIDs Defence Seaworthiness Management System or equivalent Relationship management

Ideally you will have:

Relevant experience in maritime / naval programs and engineering A university degree in a relevant engineering discipline Project management experience Experience in conducting system safety assessments in the context of the WHS Act 2011 Experience developing and implementing system Safety Cases A network and experience within the Defence environment would be an advantage. Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently in a client facing environment
