About the role

The Business Planning Lead, will be responsible for leading and managing the Strategic business objectives and planning processes for a prevention and underwriting business unit. You will continuously identify optimisation opportunities, research best practice, market/current trends, target best customer outcomes and recommend pragmatic solutions to the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the strategy and planning process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives for the business and customer,
  • Conduct complex and detailed resolution qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess opportunities and build business cases
  • Apply critical thinking to complex issues and problems that support business transformation, working closely with key senior stakeholders, develop and maintain excellent relationships, providing independent and informed advice that supports them in achieving their business objectives
  • Research, Identify and interpret emerging trends, technologies, documenting business needs for new products, features, keeping across best practice,
  • Apply hypothesis-based problem solving to business performance issues and problems, providing insights and recommendations to resolve
  • Project manage external strategy consulting teams, providing advice and guidance where needed
  • Apply innovative thought leadership on strategy practices, techniques and business performance management
  • Management of 2 direct reports, managing performance and development
  • You will have:

  • Circa 6-10 + years' experience within Business Strategy/Transformation or management consulting (Experience in Insurance or working with insurance clients highly desirable)
  • Analytical and strategic mindset, ability to work with Quantitative and Qualitative data, providing well researched business recommendations and informed reports to solve issues
  • Ability to apply complex problem solving and implementation of key decisions
  • Structured communication skills and ability to present business improvement action plans in a digestible manor
  • Demonstrate experience within Business Transformation, Business strategy, Business measurement, & planning
  • Effective communication and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Team management experience of at least 1 direct report
  • This is a 12 month FTC, with the potential for further extension.
