Applications are invited for the position of Evaporator Operator at our Proserpine Mill. The Evaporator Operator is responsible for operating the Juice Circuit encompassing Juice Heaters, Clarifiers, Filters, Associated Equipment and Evaporator in conjunction with other members of the Shift Team.

Position may be Seasonal or Permanent dependent on the successful candidates year round skill set and this will be determined on a case by case basis by Management.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Carry out duties as required by the Operations Coordinator including station housekeeping
  • Assist shift trades people as required
  • Perform start up and shut down as required 
  • Carry out various checks, inspections and adjustments in and around the Evaporators and Filters and Juice Heaters
  • Collect process samples for analysis
  • Take readings as required and record as per log sheet
  • Be able to work safely with chemicals such as, but not limited to Lime (dry and liquid), Soduim Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid, Sulfamic acid
  • Observe the relevant requirements of the Integrated Environmental Management System (IEMS), particularly with respect to incident reporting and incident management
  • The successful applicant will also be required to complete the appropriate station and maintenance competencies.

  • Trade qualification
  • HRWL - Rigging, Scaffolding, Dogging and Forklift
  • Confined Space
  • Working at Heights
  • Overhead Crane
  • Chemical/CIP experience
