Risk and Governance Advisor - Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane
About the role
Act as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor relating to Risk and Governance for Outsourcing (both onshoring and offshoring) for Suncorp to maximise the effectiveness of the operational and risk related performance including: Implementation and governance of the Outsourcing Policy, Frameworks practicesImplementation of effective outsourcing risk management processes including identifying areas of opportunity in existing risk strategies
Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders to ensure best practice outsourcing governance is utilised.
Key Accountabilities Support the design and maintenance of the Partnering (Outsourcing) Policy and Frameworks, including the materiality assessment process. Support and contribute to the management of the Aggregate Partner Risk Profiles and Offshore Risk Profile for Strategic Partners including review and design of the control environment. Coach and advise the Functions to understand the key risk and governance gates for Outsourcing Support the ongoing Operational Risk management practices for Outsourcing, including maintaining knowledge of Suncorp’s policies and frameworks that support outsourcing. These include Business Continuity Management Standard and Framework, Risk Management Frameworks, Group Security Policies and Frameworks etc. Support/monitor partnering governance activities which may include but is not limited to: CBT compliance monitoring;Breach and Incident reporting;Maintain the register of outsourcing arrangements;Materiality Assessment input and review;Review of Modern Slavery requirements;Completion of monthly, quarterly and annual reviews;Risk event monitoring; andStrategic Partnering portfolio reporting Maintain fit for purpose governance structure and escalation processes. Recommend and embed continuous improvement to governance processes that are agile and simplified whilst remaining consistent with the Outsourcing Frameworks, including identifying industry best practice where appropriate. Contribute to reports for the Outsourcing Governance Committee, ELT, Board and other stakeholders that provides analysis and outcomes of the governance conducted over the Group’s Outsourcing Portfolio. Support Internal Audits that are related to Outsourcing as required
About You Tertiary qualifications (degree or higher diploma) or equivalent career experience (desired)
Experience 3 to 5 years industry experience in Financial Services (Mandatory) 2 years’ experience with outsourcing or similar (Desired) Experience in developing and implementing frameworks and processes across Functions Experience balancing multiple key deliverables in a dynamic environment Knowledge of Suncorp’s business and technology environment Strong relationship management and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly excel Proficient capability in analysing and providing insights on business problems Strong written and verbal communication skills including an understanding of Suncorp’s writing style guide. Ability to think strategically, laterally and from a Group and Functional viewpoint. Proficient facilitation and/or workshop skills. Ability to provide meaningful and commercially relevant direction/recommendations on complex outsourcing, risk and governance issues
