Job Title: Technical Sales Specialist, Sample Prep, ANZ

Location: Melbourne or Sydney or Brisbane

You will manage the sales of the Sample Prep product portfolio in ANZ in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans. You will comprehend and utilize product features, benefits and applications accompanied with selling and business building skills to successfully promote and drive sales of Sample Prep products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan. Recognized as a technical leader, you will also be the primary driver of business development at assigned customer to penetrate and grow current and new business.

What will you do?

  • Sell and promote the Sample Preparation and Extraction portfolios across ANZ
  • Managing existing accounts and prospecting for new business that will contribute to sales growth.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Promote Thermo Fisher’s image and product reputation.

  • Servicing and Managing the Customer Base
  • Make regular customer calls either with or without the local salesperson.
  • Identify new business opportunities and work with the Technical Sales Manager to develop sales potential.
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints that will reinforce the company’s position.

  • Sales Promotion
  • Follow the directive selling program to maximise the sales of the targeted products.
  • Attend Trade Exhibitions as required to generate leads and prospects for the company’s products.
  • Conduct customer specific promotions to encourage sales growth and the development of a positive company position.
  • Develop and execute technology seminars applicable to the account research focus.

  • Product / Market Knowledge
  • Constantly develop product knowledge through company literature and other independent sources of technical information.
  • Obtain and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the sales and marketing activity.
  • Actively take part in internal product training and the external scientific community activities.

  • How will you get here?

  • Educated as BSc. Level or above in life sciences or related discipline
  • A Master Degree or PhD in life sciences is highly desirable

  • Experience
  • At least two years relevant experience in sales and account relationship management preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in the Imaging and Flow Cytometry field
