Leading financial services brand is looking for a seasoned compliance professional with a solid understanding of the asset management market in Australia. You must possess prior experience in managing a Compliance or Legal team.

Duties

Reporting to the CRO in this rare strategic opportunity, you will be responsible for leading a highly experienced compliance team within the asset management sector. You will also have the following, but not limited to, within your remit:

  • Lead the maintenance and implementation of an effective compliance framework and operating model within the asset management business, and the broader Group.
  • Drive a best practice approach to Compliance management
  • Engage with senior business leaders to understand business strategy and provide forward looking advice and insight
  • Facilitate change management in compliance across the Three lines of defence in the Group
  • Work closely with other risk and compliance business partners to ensure delivery of the overall Compliance strategy
  • Use your prior experience and understanding of the asset management experience in the market in Australia - challenges, trends, competitive & regulatory environment - to lead your team to provide quality compliance advice and support to relevant parties
  • Manage the relationship with Australian regulators
  • Provide Group wide leadership including accountability of breach committee and reporting to several boards and committees
  • Drive the delivery of projects across Reg change and AML/Sanctions audits.


    • Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally legally qualified
  • Experience creating and maintaining a high performing but commercial compliance culture within a financial services environment, across asset management products
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, having managed high performing teams previously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate and engage with senior management, regulators and external providers
  • Understanding of current compliance and AML regulations surrounding asset management
  • Ability to think strategically and holistically
  • Global experience is preferred, but not essential.
