An exciting, new opportunity for a Global Head of Governance and Risk has become available within QBE Ventures (QBEV), QBE’s venture investment and development arm. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, QBE Ventures, you will lead the design and development of a fit-for-purpose governance framework, working closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure that group and divisional functions can work effectively with QBE Ventures.
This role will form part of the QBE Ventures Leadership Team and play a key part in establishing this new division.
In this role, you will:Lead the development of QBEV’s governance framework, a set of fit-for-purpose processes that define how QBEV engages and works alongside key enabling functions of QBE, including Procurement, Legal, Group Finance, HR and Technology; As first line of defense and in partnership with Group Risk, lead the development and ongoing maintenance of QBEV’s risk management framework, establishing governance and control environment for the identification, onboarding, partnering and exiting of investee companies, across financial and non-financials risks; Grow the QBE Ventures brand by engaging with the technology, media, and entrepreneurship communities globally; Increase and develop new business through QBE Ventures by ensuring risk management framework supports the effective development and scaling of new opportunities; Drive and shape venture impact analysis, business, financial, market and legal diligence.
Your story so farStrong experience in governance models and risk management, specifically the development of risk frameworks within a corporate environment, ideally with reference to innovation risk;Forward thinking, enterpreneurial and strategic, consistently looking for innovative ways of working internally and ways to empower the customer; Strong market knowledge of new and emerging tools and technologies, and best practice risk frameworks, processes and governance; Highly-developed knowledge of Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources; Strong facilitation, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills to build relationships and trust at all levels;Previous experience of working across complex organisational matrices, start-ups, and/or in global/group environments would be highly advantageous.
