Opal Aged Care is one of the leading, privately owned aged care providers in Australia with 80 homes in 4 states and employs a team of over 9,000. About the role: Based at Bunbury Gardens Care Community. Permanent Full-time role working Monday to Friday. Follow and implement the 8 Standards of Care. Ensuring all emergency, preventative and legislative maintenance is carried out in compliance with all State and Regulatory requirements. Understanding how to procure maintenance services and equipment in a cost effective manner Thoroughly understanding all home services and mains i.e. gas, water and power mains and how to isolate. Be responsible for inducting, co-ordinate and overseeing contractors safely working at the home for repairs and maintenance. Provide a safe, clean, quality home that promotes person centred care. Demonstrate an ability to learn and continuously improve all maintenance operations at the facility. Maintain and care for the onsite gardens and landscape.
Requirements; Have previous Maintenance experience in Facilities or Accommodation setting. Demonstrate highly developed customer service skills as well as highly developed written and verbal skills. All applicants must be willing to obtain a police clearance certificate via Opal's police check system and undergo a pre-employment medical. You may also be required to attend a drug screen and you will be required to have a flu vaccination in accordance with government directions. From 1st February 2021, you are required to obtain an NDISWC through your state government provider prior to commencing employment with us.
