  • The opportunity

    An exciting opportunity has become available to join an established team as a Team Leader for our Country Volunteer Services. You will Recruit, Support, and mentor our Volunteers along with providing your team leadership and guidance to ensure clients progress towards achieving their goals through a wellness model. This role offers variety, plus immense job satisfaction while assisting our community in living their best lives in their own homes.

    Key responsibilities

  • Recruitment, training, support and retention of volunteers within Social Care WA to provide contemporary services to clients
  • Lead, manage and empower volunteers to ensure best practice is followed and compliant with required policies and procedures.
  • Lead and promote safe work culture to reduce safety incidents and lost time injury.
  • Maintain inclusive and effective communication within Social Care Team to ensurevolunteers are aware of pertinent information which is shared by Manager Social Centres and Volunteers to meet business unit objectives and organisational strategies
  • Ensure new volunteers have been provided with adequate knowledge of their role and responsibilities
  • Respond to volunteer queries to ensure consistent and effective outcomes
  • Document, report and action hazards and incidents to ensure safe work procedures are followed
  • Ensure the integrity of client documents and reports are correct, maintained and delivered
  •   About you

    The ideal candidate will have a background in leading and supporting teams of volunteers across multiple locations. Good geographical knowledge of Western Australia would greatly compliment you in this role. In addition to this, you will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Decision making and problem-solving skills to innovatively manage the provision of service delivery.
  • Basic First Aid Certificate
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment will be highly regarded
  • Certificate III in Community Services will be highly regarded
  • A demonstrated empathetic and flexible approach to manage the sensitivities of client and employee issues.
  • Time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
  • Knowledge of service provision, allocation and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principles with the ability to train others.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet and calendar management software to prepare correspondence and effective documentation.
