    About the role:

    A broad and exciting newly created role, which offers an experienced ER Manager the chance to add value and play a key role within our wider HR team. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations you will be responsible for the execution of the employee relations strategy and operational requirements across all entities in the group.

    With two direct reports into this role you will be considered the subject matter expert in providing Operational leadership of the HR Advisory function involving a high- volume HR caseload.

    This is a Sydney CBD based role, with work from home flexibility. We are undertaking a move to Alexandria mid-August this year so applicants will need to be comfortable with this as a location.

    Key responsibilities will include;

  • Reporting and analysis on case trends across different areas of the business and the provision of operational observations to feed back into strategic initiatives.
  • Drive and own the Employee Relations annual compliance plan
  • Identify necessary resource requirements based on case-load trends/data
  • Drive continuous improvement in partnership with team leads, reduce low value activity and improve self-service technology & quality of service deliverables
  • Obtain specialist advice on escalations and technical matters including grievance management, industrial instruments, operation of FW Act, Enterprise Bargaining and other like subject matter to be deployed into action by the Advisory team
  • Skills and experience:

    We are looking for a motivated professional who brings well developed relationship management, strong communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills across all levels of stakeholder groups, along with the below;

  • Essential: Degree in Human Resources, Law, Psychology, Humanities or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Qualifications in mediation, dispute settlement or equivalent which contributes to the role in case management leadership
  • Worked in a role with a heavy emphasis on high-volume case management in a retail, manufacturing or other industry.
  • Essential: HR Experience in both blue collar (industrial/unionised) and call retail (or similar) environments
  • Desirable: Managed a HR service team or function within a centralised HR model dealing with HR & ER general enquiries.
  • Desirable: Experience in an employee or employer industrial association dealing with award & agreement interpretation, unfair dismissal, enterprise bargaining & grievance management/investigations.
  • Desirable: Admitted (or eligible to be admitted) as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
