  This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period of up to 49 weeks for 24 hours per week; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements.  There is also the possibility of an extension at same reduced hours.

   
  1. Current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse (Division 1) and availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour seven-day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays.
  3. Uses all available information to develop, monitor and evaluate a plan of care in consultation with women, newborns, families and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to support best women and newborn outcomes.
  5. Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
  7. Knowledge and understanding of women and newborn-centred care, evidence-based practice and quality improvement
  9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, responsibly, and accountably with minimal supervision and effectively manage the use of staff and physical resources when rostered In-Charge of Shift
  11. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to practice in accordance with legislation, policies and within the scope of practice of a Registered Midwife
