    The Cloud Services team is responsible for design, build and run of AGL's cloud infrastructure landscape including networks, telephony, hosting, data centres, IaaS, PaaS and operational network technologies. The team provides infrastructure services leveraging automation and self-service tooling capabilities through adopting cloud native ways of working such as DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering.

    This role is accountable for the run of all AGL's Cloud infrastructure services including IaaS, PaaS and associated technologies.

    Key accountabilities of this role

  • Manage the creation, delivery and lifecycle of Cloud services (IaaS & PaaS) to meet AGL IT standards and business requirements.
  • Platform management - Lead a blended insourced and outsourced team to ensure that cloud services are operated to expected outcomes, including adherence to SLA's, capacity and resource management and maintenance within service delivery and other IT methodologies and frameworks. This includes monitoring and reporting on service/operational performance (including associated technologies such as Splunk, Azure Monitor, Power BI)
  • Act as "trusted advisor" in reviewing project proposed solutions (new), and recommending continuous improvements and enhancements to operational activities that will deliver service robustness and reliability and optimise AGL outcomes
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to build a continuous improvement environment for cloud infrastructure services aligned to business and technology requirement drivers, and industry thought leadership
  • Drive operational excellence, cloud mindset, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization
  • Escalation point in relation to process or service failures
  • Champion Enterprise Technology and Cloud Technology processes and their implementation including the sharing of skills and experience
  • Demonstrate AGL values in all interactions and deliverables, as well upholding AGL's inclusive workplace culture.

    • Qualifications, key skills and experience required

  • Exceptional organisational skills, ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities efficiently and effectively, whilst dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience implementing automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, DSC, Ansible, etc
  • Extensive experience in cloud platforms and public cloud services management including
  • IaaS/PaaS, Automation
  • Familiarity with Cloud Architecture best practices
  • Working knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principles
  • Knowledge of key cloud concepts (tagging, power management, right sizing, templates, cost management)
  • Azure PaaS services and containerization solutions
  • Experience implementing common coding languages used by SREs / DevOps such as Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash
  • Linux (SuSE and Centos preferred)
  • Experience delivering reporting and analytics using technologies such as Splunk, Azure Monitor, Power BI
  • Strong stakeholders management with experience working with audiences at all levels as well as outsourced IT vendors.
  • Highly developed communication, facilitation, presentation and reporting skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and cloud financial management skills
  • Relevant qualifications in Cloud, and Information Technology and Management
