About the role
We are seeking applications from experienced contracts specialist or contracts engineers to work within our commercial and legal teams supporting our operational mining projects.
We are seeking someone with strong commercial awareness, adaptability, initiative and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to work under pressure and will possess sound organisational and people skills.
Key Accountabilities: Provide support in the negotiation and management of contract claims, variations, delay claims and disputes across new and existing projects. Provide contract and commercial advice to our operations managers and project managers. Draft, finalise and issue contract related correspondence. Assist in management of subcontract and supply tenders, contracts and commercial documents and prepare contract non-conformance submissions. Prepare, negotiate and manage Barminco and Ausdrill contracts and sub-contracts with clients and suppliers. Evaluate commercial related risks and opportunities and ensure these are mitigated by contract terms and conditions. Ensure commercial management activities are conducted in accordance with Perenti’s corporate governance and policies. Uphold documentation standards by ensuring contract documentation is properly completed and executed and that sufficient and appropriate records and registers are kept. Ensure that the business unit/project stakeholders are aware of the contract requirements and assist them to address contractor performance.
Key Requirements Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, commerce, quantity surveying, commerce or business management. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contracts and commercial/legal business principles. Previous contract administration and management experience with a mining or construction company or other industries that are exposed to highly level of contract administration and management. Highly developed written and oral communications skills are essential.
