Job Description
The Sydney Morning Herald is looking to hire an Indigenous journalist for a 12-month contract, with the potential for ongoing employment.
The successful applicant will be based in Sydney covering Indigenous issues across the newsroom, including news, features and multimedia projects. They will work independently and with senior journalists as required.
Qualifications
The role would suit a reporter with two or three years experience in either broadcast or print media. Experience writing newspaper/digital stories is preferable.
The ideal candidate would be self-motivated and driven, with a passion for storytelling across many mediums and platforms. The Age will also be hiring an Indigenous reporter and we would anticipate the successful applicants will work together on national projects as well on as state-based stories.
