    • The Department of Regional NSW is looking for a Manager Internal Platforms to work within and across multi-disciplinary teams, overseeing the work of Senior Application Developers and Application Developers to create, support and enhance business applications based on platform and low-code technologies.

    Background:

    The department was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues. The department has responsibility for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

    About the role:

    The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure the best solutions are designed, developed and delivered to meet business needs and the strategic direction of the department.
  • Manage the monitoring, review and implementation of business applications and take steps to ensure appropriate governance and compliance protocols and procedures are in place for the management of vendors.
  • Engage and manage external contractors, ensuring service levels are optimised and in line with the operational requirements and the Cluster Service Catalogue.
  • Implement appropriate technical standards and quality assurance practices to ensure system development (both internal and third party) is in line with organisational policies, procedures and standards.
  • Analyse current and emerging issues, prepare reports, provide input to the development of business applications, and contribute to the development of a strong and effective team culture and leadership to staff in the provision of support to the Executive leadership team.
  • Provide high quality advice and guidance concerning issues management, including provision of strategies to proactively and effectively manage critical issues and stakeholder relations to ensure the achievement of agreed deliverables.

    • Applicants will need to demonstrate their extensive knowledge and proven functional skills in SharePoint, Workplace by Facebook, SAP, Power BI and CM9. Demonstrated capabilities in team management, project delivery and service management practices are also essential for the role.
