The Westin Melbourne hotel is an oasis in the heart of the city's bustling Central Business District. Department:

Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation and condition of all guest rooms, corridors, public areas, service areas and heart of house areas, ensuring they are consistent with Westin brand standards.

Job Description:

This critical role is suited to a high task orientated candidate, who enjoys variety, responsibility and delivering exceptional communication with all levels of the organisation.

Management of all aspects of the operation to ensure the department services are delivered with the aim of exceeding guest expectations to both guests and internal customers.

Optimize productivity and ensure the operation runs within budgeted financial framework.

Monitor and review quality standards for the department and ensure all applicable Brand Standards are adhered to.

Manage the selection and appointment of new associates and conduct regular development and performance reviews with existing associates.

Fostering team spirit among the housekeeping associates, the Housekeeping Manager is responsible to ensure all associates work in a safe environment and are engaged to provide the best possible service to internal and external customers.

Analyse and respond to feedback, guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction information; and give a positive commitment to continuous improvement of product and performance.

Effective communication with other departments to ensure guest requests are exceeded.

Manage effective relationships with contractors and suppliers.

Be prepared to multi-task daily and stay one step ahead of everything which occurs in the department.

Demonstrate passion for this very rewarding position and industry.

Requirements:

Ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years' experience as a Housekeeping Manager in 4 or 5-star hotel or alternatively sound leadership experience in another Hotel Rooms Division role.

Previous experience with rostering and performance management required.

Sound knowledge of room allocation procedures an advantage.

Oracle Opera PMS knowledge preferred.

Exemplary attention to detail and time management skills.

The successful candidate will lead by example, have a positive demeanour and demonstrate initiative and advanced communication, organisational and problem solving skills.

Must have the flexibility to work on a 7 day rotating roster including public holidays and weekends.
