Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies (including permanent full time / part time, fixed term full time / part time with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency and casual appointments) throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is seeking suitable applications for a Nurse Practitioner with Oncology experience to join the Medical Oncology team. The Nurse Practitioner provides expert knowledge and consultancy to relevant customers both within and external to the Health Service. The role will provide equitable and timely access to treatment for patients. The Nurse Practitioner will work autonomously but collaboratively with the consumer and other health professionals to diagnose manage and treat health problems. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice and initiating research and leading quality improvement activities to benefit all consumers in their area of clinical expertise. The Nurse Practitioner will be a clinical leader in their field and a professional leader for all nurses.
Area Profile: (SCGH) Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
