The role sits in Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) Global Business Line’s Cloud & Edge Australia Organization, which is tasked with client advisory services, cloud project engagements and cloud service delivery. 

Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities: 

The role of the project manager is to manage client projects; Plan, coordinate and ensure completion on schedule & within budget. In the context of cloud migrations, a project / program manager is responsible for Application / Server migrations & will be part of Cloud Infrastructure Services, Australia

o He / She need to work with all required stakeholders to ensure successful migration of workloads from source to target environment [Public – AWS, Azure & Google / Private Cloud]. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.


o Ensures delivery of assigned projects within defined scope, time and cost requirements without compromising on quality
o Manage project plans and provide regular / ad-hoc reports on project progress to the management including project progress, financial performance and resource usage
o Ensure compliance with standard Capgemini Unified Project Management (UPM) methodology
o Support regional Project Managers / Engagement Managers in managing project risks, issues, problems and activity progress to ensure project goals are achieved
o Coordinate activities and tasks among project team members within and outside Capgemini, as needed, to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule within budget constraints and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope
o Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
o Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans

Let’s talk about your qualifications and experience:

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong Infrastructure project manager, preferably with cloud experience
  • Effective English Communication – Verbal & Non-verbal
  • Strong working knowledge of project-planning tools like MS Project, MS Excel, MS Power point
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Developing and Tracking Budgets and Financials
  • Desired Skills:

  • Cloud Migration Fundamentals
  • Good understanding of current and emerging Cloud technologies & tools
  • Profession certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification
  • Experience in VMC migration to AWS and should have some banking migration experience.
