We are looking for Senior Policy Officers with a specialisation in the Energy Sector to work across the Public Sector in Victoria. We have plenty of roles that are just waiting for the right candidate to come along!

Location: Metro Vic & WFH

Contract Duration: 3 months, 6 months and 12 months

Hours- 38 hours per week

Pay- VPS 5 ($63- $77 per hour plus superannuation)

About the role:

These roles will require a diverse range of skills, including supporting the technical development of the energy efficiency activities incentivised under the program, working with legislation, and ensuring effective communications within the department and with government and external stakeholders. There is also huge potential for skills development

Your profile will demonstrate:

  • Written Communication: Identifies key messages and information required for decision making. Makes sure writing is concise and free of spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Planning and Project Management: Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities. Liaises with others when organising work. Anticipates barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them. Provides guidance and support to project managers to identify risks and overcome obstacles. Anticipates potential problems and pre-empts required actions. Monitors overall project performance against project plans.
  • Stakeholder Skills: Possesses knowledge of the department’s structure, administrative mechanisms and protocols. Builds trusting relationships with external stakeholders to inform policy development and gain commitment to implementation. Identifies and escalates issues related to policy and program proposals. Keeps up-to-date with a broad range of contemporary issues and stakeholder interests.
  • Research and Problem Solving: Actively scans relevant documents and undertakes simple desktop research to prepare background information for the executive. Liaises with key stakeholders to ensure full understanding of the issues. Quickly considers complex options and recommends a clear way forward. Evaluates implemented courses of action and makes adjustments as required.

    • Experience :

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.
  • Experience or qualifications in energy efficiency, engineering, law, communications, energy economics, science or public policy is desirable.
