We have a great opportunity for a Database Administrator to join the Shared Services team within our Banking & Wealth Technology function. Reporting to the Delivery Manager, the shared services delivery team is responsible for consulting on and maintaining some of Suncorp’s most critical database platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Drive automation and self-service Learn, contribute to and utilise existing scripting and automation frameworks as standard way of working Continuously improve the monitoring of the team’s platforms Create and maintain relevant documentation including Standard Operating Procedures for all platforms and processes Perform daily tasks such as alert management and resolution, database environment refreshes, data fixes, database DDL changes Liaise with vendors and technology specialists on new technologies Provide input into workload and resource planning and estimation activities Use Agile and Lean practices to drive our way of working On-call support duties where required Skills & Experience
5+ years Oracle Database Administration experience in a medium to large organisation Experience in supporting multiple versions of Oracle Databases (12– 19c), Oracle 10g/9i and earlier preferred MySQL Performance tuning experience Knowledge of AIX, Linux environments Scripting: Shell, PL/SQL RAC, ASM, DataGuard and Exadata Oracle advanced feature sets – Advanced security, partitioning etc. Involvement and support in Major Outages\Critical Incidents Experience with Open Source database software including but not limited to PostgreSQL (desirable) Our Benefits
