About the role:

Our geotechnical and civil engineering team provides vital support to projects across the Dams & Tailings sector and have been very successful in winning significant amounts of work through repeat and new clients. With this in mind we are looking for a senior geotechnical engineer to join our team to work on a variety of projects in the Tailings / Mining space.

You'll join a team of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the team and connect with the large global community of geo-specialists. You'll be involved in a range of engineering projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific.

You will be working closely with our senior leaders and supporting the engineer of record in particular. Flexibility is a must for those looking to join the team, our clients have come to rely on us as a team that get the job done, this will at times require travel to site for a few days at a time.

In this role you will be empowered to:

\tProvide geotechnical design & planning of Tailings Dams, Waste Storage Facilities, Tailing Storage Facilities & tunnelling projects, ideally you will have deep excavation experience.

\tDeliver / Project Manage a variety of exciting projects

\tProduce and review calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical designs will provide appropriate solution.

\tPlan, programme, co-ordinate and write reports for specific projects.

\tAssist with the preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction.

\tMaintain communication and develop successful client relationships.

\tWork closely and develop team members, with the possibility for 2-5 staff reporting directly to the right candidate.

About you

\tDegree qualified, ideally in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or Mining with 10+ years relevant experience

\tGeotechnical and civil engineering experience, particular preference for experience with tailings or earth dams

\tExperience with large infrastructure projects in Australia (particularly in the mining / resources infrastructure industry)

\tAbility to interface with clients, respond quickly, and deliver projects with a supporting engineering team.

\tDesign experience preferred

\tHigh end stakeholder engagement skills as you will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders, and possibly supervising and mentoring junior staff
