Mountain Safety Assistant

Mountain Safety Assistants are employed to ensure the safety of our guests and staff through education of the Alpine Responsibility Code and Perisher's Lift Usage Policy.

Mountain Safety Assistants provide support and resort information to guests as well as educate skiers and snowboarders about safe skiing and boarding whilst monitoring the slopes for unacceptable behaviour.

A Mountain Safety Assistant's duties will include:

  • Enforcing Perisher’s Mountain Safety and Lift Usage Policies
  • Enforcing the Alpine Responsibility Code
  • Monitoring the flow of skier/snowboarder traffic at designated areas around the resort
  • Monitoring the slopes for unacceptable behaviour and cautioning skiers/snowboarders riding recklessly
  • Assisting Ski Patrol, when required.
  • To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A current Apply First Aid Certificate (or equivalent International qualification)
  • Knowledge of the Alpine Responsibility Code
  • Knowledge of safe skiing and snowboarding practices
  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Perisher and the resort areas is highly desirable.

    Please be aware that as the position of Mountain Safety Assistant may involve having direct contact with resort guests under 18 years of age, all successful applicants will be required to obtain and provide details of their NSW Working With Children Check clearance. Police Checks as well as Child Check clearances from other states or territories will not be accepted.
