About the role
The role of the Clinical Research Officer works through the Senior Clinical Research Officer to the Assistant Director - Clinical Research and Pilots and National Director - Clinical Innovations of this large agency. This position may be responsible for the supervision, mentoring and coaching of staff. This role involves applying creative and innovative approaches to issues to enable best practice clinical service delivery, exercising professional judgement under supervision.
Under supervision you will contribute to the research program of works to support high quality mental health service delivery, including but not limited to research projects, studies and trials; program pilots; and project and program evaluation activities. This includes:

supporting, projects and clinical quality improvement activities with the provision of effective advice, strategies, plans, channels and deliverables.

applying project management skills which includes developing quality project documentation using best practice approaches, undertaking stakeholder management, conducting risk assessment, and applying mitigation strategies; and

providing subject matter expertise to deliver procurement activities, managing associated contracts, ensuring compliance, processing invoices, and working with the Finance Team to provide financial oversight of contracts.

Skills and Experience

There are no mandatory clinical qualifications required. Qualifications in mental health, psychology, social sciences, humanities or a related field, and project management, are highly regarded.

Well-developed written and oral communication are essential for this role.

Secretariat and administrative skills and/or qualifications are highly regarded.

IT proficient

stakeholder engagement requiring the successful applicant to have stakeholder management experience and demonstrated communication skills to effectively maintain these relationships.

have an understanding of mental health services;

experience in research and evaluation;

procurement including contract management; as well as relevant experience in the Australian Public Service, and the Australian Defence Force.
