Position Profile : This position provides continuity of midwifery carer within a caseload midwifery led model throughout the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. The midwife works within a group practice and provides support and backup for the woman either at home or in the hospital. The emphasis is on the provision of safe, effective care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Within the midwifery group practice the woman and her family is central to the care and provided in a culturally appropriate manner.
