Collie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly motivated, innovative and energetic teacher of English to join their enthusiastic team.

We are seeking a person who is skilled in engaging students in learning through well planned, relevant lessons and programs. Effective classroom leadership is required to provide students with a model of collaborative problem-solving and effective teaching practices. It would be highly desirable that the successful applicant possess an understanding of data analysis to inform teaching and learning which leads to an improvement in student outcomes.

In this role, you will be expected to be committed to whole school strategies in Reading and Writing and have a team based approach to Teaching and Learning. We take an approach that is inclusive, explicit & supports all students in achieving academic, social & emotional success using a Positive Behaviour Support approach. Implementation of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework forms an important part of this approach which is in line with our current Business Plan.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have a sound understanding of the English curriculum for both Lower and Senior School with the capacity to teach in both General and ATAR courses. They will also possess excellent organisational skills along with the ability to design, implement and monitor the delivery of courses for Years 7 to 12. Excellent interpersonal skills that support the development of effective working relationships is another key element of this position.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.
